Search Engine Optimisation is generally associated with where your website ranks for a particular keyword on the main search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc). There are various factors and formulas to create the perfect SEO campaign and it takes years of experience to understand how to improve your search engine position and become number one on Google.

I have proven commercial experience in the following areas of SEO:-

I have been implementing SEO on my web site for over a year now, and am featuring highly, if not top in some cases, of Google in most keyphrases and keywords relating to digital signage development and consultancy.

In addition, I recently launched a Google AdWords campaign for my digital signage consultancy services using the newly registered and keyword relevant domain http://www.digitalsignageconsultant.co.uk. Within 1 hour of creating the Google AdWord campaign and optimising my landing page for the campaign’s keywords, the advert was approved by Google and I was starting to see impressions of the advert with Keyword Quality Scores of 7 out 10 and above. Proof that Google AdWords are a very effective marketing tool with immediate results once your web page is ready!

An XML feed is a file of structured data that is frequently updated.

I developed a web based solution that processed the news items (text and pictures) of any XML feed to display the latest stories from the XML or RSS feed as dynamic screen content that could be included into any digital signage platform that support web page integration.

All components of the web based content items could be customised, such as:-

Each of these components could be customised on the fly, meaning the stories could be displayed dependant on the news stories, XML or RSS feed structure and the screen size of the digital signage network, with the additional important point that a network administrator of a digital signage network could use this software without knowing how to develop software.

From a specific specification provided to me by Owner, Matt Smart, I developed their company’s web site which specified the services they offer. My involvement in the web development and ongoing marketing was extensive, and included:-

Wherever credit cards and most purchases are accepted, receipts are printed using thermal printing on narrow rolls of thermal paper. Recent innovations have led to multi-coloured thermal printing technology and the ability to print double-sided receipts.

I was employed to develop a brand new web site based on Kenkaato’s company branding with the specific requirement for Google SEO, social media integration and general picture rich content.

To reflect this, Interfuture required an update to their marketing brochure to detail the additional products and services offered. Below are the brochure inserts I produced for these services, with a downloadable digital version at the end of this article.

Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I produced brochure inserts to meet printer quality requirements, and produced separate versions optimised for electronic transfer for approval and review.

Combined with my extensive experience in project management, software development and operations, I feel I can add value to any digital signage project. During my involvement with Surgery Media Systems Ltd, I managed the project from the inception to installation and on-going maintenance.

Between October and November 2011, I undertook such consultancy work for Captive Media Ltd on the world’s first interactive, networked, digital signage washroom gaming system.

I was approached through my web consultancy relationship with Interfuture Systems Ltd to develop Keith Nash Insurance’s new web site as part of a company re-brand.

Following my initial meetings with the client, after I had completed the initial release of the web site, all subsequent updates to content needed to be undertaken by the client. With this in mind, I decided to implement a WordPress based web site and set up author accounts for each user.

I installed WordPress from scratch, implemented a custom theme, edited the theme and layour to suit the design appropriate for the text content supplied, prepared all imagery and implemented SEO (search engine optimisation).

I also designed the new company stationery and developed a central branding document.

I also offer the additional option of multi layered SEO implementation and regular monitoring, plus Social Media integration including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
